FAQ

Q. How does it work?
A. The first step in the mural process is getting to know the audience. Once the subject has been determined, a sketch is created to clearly define what the mural will look like. After the sketch is reviewed, ammended, and approved the mural is created in-studio. When it's ready, an installation date is scheduled and our professional crew will permanently affix the mural to your surface.

Q. Is there a fee for a consultation?
A. Consultations can be a simple phone conversation, a video conference, or even an in-person meeting. There is no fee for discussing your ideas and developing the concept with Lacy. Once a design is agreed upon there is a fee required to develop the concept-sketch. When you decide to go forward with the project that fee is credited towards the overall cost of your mural.

Q. How long will it take?
A. Time estimates are given at the onset of any project. Lacy works full time in-studio to complete murals as quickly as possible

Q. Can I have my mural done on-site?
A. Lacy has studio facilities available in Oakdale, California for the majority of projects. The mural is created in-studio and then shipped to your location and installed by an experienced professional. There is no difference in quality between a studio mural and one painted directly on the wall.

Q. Do I need to prepare the wall before the mural begins?
A. In terms of painting, a mural will look best if it blends into the surrounding wall as much as possible. Often times people will paint their space a color they think will help the mural, but it is best to leave the painting and color matching to the muralist for best effect. If the wall needs to be resurfaced so that it is smooth, that can be done ahead of time.

Q. Is there anything I can do to help?
A. Absolutely. The best thing you can do to prepare for a mural is have a clear idea of what you want. Clip magazines, search the internet, and even sketch some pictures yourself so that the design process can be as beneficial as possible for everyone. The more reference material you select for the mural, the more personal and special it becomes.

Q. Can you Paint...
A. The answer is: Yes! Don't let the murals on this website limit your imagination. Lacy is capable of painting any subject you would want be it people, architecture, landscapes, or wild shapes and designs.
